HOFUF, SAUDI ARABIA

The Saudi cement producer, Saudi Cement Company, has hired Montelektro to implement the automation project of a railway terminal for cement transport, which includes delivery, storage, and loading of cement into a train.

The conveying capacity of the terminal is 1000 tons per hour, while its loading ability is 16 wagons simultaneously.

Within the project, Montelektro’s experts designed the complete control system and power distribution. Moreover, we installed and delivered a solution for low and medium voltage distribution, two transformer stations with a total power of 4MVA, MCC panels, draw-out design with intelligent motor starters, and ABB’s DCS 800xA system.

We have also implemented the lighting and fire protection system, video surveillance, and telephone network in the facility, and put into operation the SW control system.

Saudi Cement Company is a regional pioneer in the production of high-quality clinker and cement. Their products have been an indispensable part of many demanding construction projects in the Middle East for more than half a century. HOOGEZAND, NETHERLANDS

The Dutch shipping company Royal Bodewes is one of the leading shipbuilding companies in Europe. The family-owned company has been building ships for over 200 years and is specialized in the production of cargo ships whose carrying capacity is from 1,500 up to 15,000 tons. Among other things, they own a vessel for cement transport, Furuvik. The “self-discharging” cement carrier is equipped with a pneumatic discharging transport system. It is designed for handling bulk cement, fly ash and GGBFS.
The capacity of cargo is 6 500 tons. While its feeding rate is 1 000 tons per hour, the discharging rate is 350 tons per hour. With an additional rotating arm for mechanical discharging on trains and trucks, the discharge rate is 200 tons per hour.
The automation project included designing and implementing a new control system, installing the MCC panels, implementing software for automatic vessel loading and discharging, and GSM remote maintenance.
With the implemented solution, the Client can track a vessel’s position and cargo status in real-time, store all data in Cloud and use it through a web application.

SINGAPORE

One of the leading Asian ports for handling bulk, break-bulk, liquid, and containerized cargo, equipped with the newest technologies and machines that ensure quick and reliable cargo handling, hired Montelektro to design a control system for their cement ship unloader. The IBAU ship unloader is designed for unloading bulk material from ships such as OPC, a blend of OPC, GGBFS, and fly ash. The material from the cargo hold is transported onto the belt conveyor with the pick-up device and the vertical, horizontal, and gantry screws. Within this project, we delivered the design of a control system and an electric container that is consisted of a transformer, MCC, PLC electric motor distributor, and control room.
The Singaporean client was also supplied with a control system for automatic ship unloading that enables the visualization of a real-time 3D position and port anti-collision system.
